Blue Ridge Boxster Summit 2019 officially commences on Thursday, May 30th with the meet-and-greet at The Ridges Resort in Georgia The Ridges, followed by the kickoff dinner.

"Early Thursday" events are for those who wish to get an early start, which most folks are now participating in.

Helen to Atlantic Balloon Race & Festival
The South's oldest balloon event and the United States' only long distance hot air balloon race will begin weather permitting with a mass ascension of around 20 bright and colorful hot air balloons, in North Georgia's Alpine Village - Helen.   Race competitors and local flyers will take to the sky at 7:00 am - https://helenballoon.com

Bell Mountain & Brasstown Bald
Drive to Bell Mountain Park for beautiful photos overlooking Lake Chatuge.  Then proceed to Brasstown Bald, a short drive a way, for Georgia’s highest point!  On a clear day from the peak you can see four states: GA, TN, NC and SC!  Take in the 1.2 mile hiking trail adjacent to the Brasstown Bald gift shop or surrounding area.

Blue Ridge Scenic Railway
Enjoy a 4 hour round trip train ride departing Blue Ridge, GA to McCaysville, GA / Copperhill, TN to explore the area, shops, and have lunch during the 2hr lay-over.  Tickets $45+ http://www.brscenic.com/

For BRBS enthusiasts whose method of relaxation does not include inhaling 2-stroke exhaust fumes, Julia Buxton-Cox has arranged for a Fun Run via shuttle to a local Spa offering your choice of the following services:  Massage 50min , Facial 50min , Manicure, or Pedicure 45min .  Spa guests also will have access to outdoor hot tub, relaxation room, steam room, locker room, etc.  Slippers & robe provided and beverages and cheese assortment plate available for purchase. All spa services will be self-pay $40-135 per plus 20% gratuity . Julia will be in direct contact with menu options and selections.  First shuttle departure 8:45AM.

9:30 AM - 12:30 PM  BRBS Karting Enduro Challenge & Women’s Challenge Races if enough drivers! AMP is a more technically challenging track than GoPro 2015 for those present with team challenge structure so less head to head ensuring all drive & enjoy the Enduro!

BRBS Karting Enduro

Back by very popular demand - KARTING but on a track even better than GoPro Motorplex 2015 !  We’ll spend the day at Atlanta Motorpsorts Park, a “Motorsports Country Club”, karting on their .85 mile track with 43 ft elevation change.  Includes karting, all safety gear, instruction, simulator use practice while not on track and lunch following. Every driver will have open practices and qualifying rounds with timed results. A BRBS LADIES ONLY drive will occur while the Karting Manager organizes equal teams of three.  Each 3-person team will see who completes the highest number of laps during a 40min enduro.  Lunch in clubhouse following enduro.  $67 per person includes karting plus lunch:  lunch only $17 per person.  A 140 store outlet mall is near AMP for those interested either during or following .  Practice at AMP begins 9:30 AM sharp.  Meander your way back to The Ridges in the afternoon.

Tellico Plains, TN via Cherohala Skyway - This event is at capacity

Join Bryson & Kathy Kiser for a beautiful drive to Tellico Plains, TN via mountain roads and the Cherohala Skyway. One of America’s most notable National Scenic Byway’s through the Cherokee & Nantahala Forests .  Departs The Ridges Resort 9:30AM with scenic stops along the way.  Arrive Tellico Plains Bakery ~ 11:45AM for lunch self pay on site and explore the town. Return via a unique route arriving back at approximately 3:30PM.


Wolf Mountain Winery & Lunch
 - This event is at capacity

Team Gamauf leads a scenic, twisty drive to the Wolf Mountain Winery.  Karl Boegner, owner, will give us a personal tour of his German car collection, which includes 10 Porsches. After that, lunch will consist of BBQ'd sliders vegetarian option of cheese sliders , salad, desert and sweet tea while enjoying a panoramic view of the vineyards and surrounding mountains. After lunch, we'll have a tour of the winery followed by wine tasting including a souvenir wine glass.

All inclusive price, $50 per person.  Driver Meeting 9:15AM departure following immediately w/ return back to The Ridges by 4 pm.


Pan for Gold in Historic Dahlonega, GA via Suches Loop

Travel via famous Suches Loop Georgia’s ‘Dragon’ to historic Dahlonega, GA.  Arrive Consolidated Gold Mine for an underground tour including chance to pan for your own gold.  Explore downtown Dahlonega following the tour and self pay lunch at one of 3 suggested local eateries Capers, Brazeit, Bourbon Street Grill .  Reconvene for Rob & Cris Weimann to escort the return trip via US-19N to The Ridges.  Cost $18 per person plus self-pay lunch.  Depart 9:00AM and return ~ 3:00PM


Grandaddy Mimms Moonshine Distillery Tour

Team Covington-Felts will lead you to a local purveyor of authentic moonshine [read: an original bootlegger] to help you discover Who’s Your Grandaddy?  Join them for a guided tour and tasting $10pp at Grandaddy Mimms Moonshine Distillery & Museum.  Following the tour you will enjoy a relaxing lunch self-pay with Brothers Restaurant at Willow Ranch.  Keith & Jim then lead you to a proverbial ‘diamond in the desert’ - the famous Alexander’s in Blairsville, GA for a one of kind shopping experience of yesteryear.  Depart 10:00AM and return ~ 3:00PM


Explore Bavaria in the Blue Ridges aka Helen, GA

Who would think an Alpine Village is tucked in the middle of Georgia’s mountains… but there is!  Richie & Jeannie Herbert will lead a group from The Ridges to Helen, GA for a day of exploring shops, food and other activities in historic Helen, GA.  Departs 9:45AM with return mid afternoon.  Self-pay lunch, etc.


Locals Only Fun In The Hills Run

For those interested in sampling some of the best roads around our new venue, join Christian Aybar on his take of the best picks as only a local would know. 

The group will spend the day exploring GA 180, US-19, GA 60, and the Richard B Russell Scenic Hwy. The run will end in the Bavarian-style town of Helen for some authentic-ish German lunch. After lunch, explore the many shops at your own leisure and return to The Ridges Resort via GA 17.  Driver meeting 8:50AM with departure immediately following.  Self Pay lunch.
